I started dyeing wool when I couldn't find the specific colours I was looking for and ROYD MOOR YARNS took off from there, over a decade ago. I started producing colours that other knitters, crocheters and weavers saw and liked and wanted to add to their collections.
Our Yarns
At ROYD MOOR YARNS, each skein is hand-dyed by me, reflecting the natural beauty and hues of the moorland and coastline of Yorkshire. I specialise in unique, one-of-a-kind colourways, ranging from the subtle shades of blues and purples to vibrant reds, greens, oranges, and yellows. Every skein is slightly different, embodying the charm and individuality of hand-dyed yarns.
Our yarns are dyed in small quantities, ensuring that new dye-lots are regularly added to our collection. This approach not only keeps our selection fresh but also makes it possible for knitters to purchase affordable, small amounts of yarn to add to their collections. Many of our customers enjoy the exclusivity of owning the only skeins of a particular dye lot, perfect for incorporating into larger projects or standing alone as a unique piece.
